How to Apply online for Admission in IUT
(Host Country BSc Engineering and BBA Candidates)

The online application process requires three steps to be completed.

Step 1: Completion of the online application form
Step 2: Confirmation of the payment of the Admission fees
Step 3: Generation of the Admit Card of the admission test and downloading the Admit Card

Step 1: Completion of the online application form

To complete the online application form, candidates have to click on the "Apply Now" Tab on the Admission website (admission.iutoic-dhaka.edu or www.iutoic-dhaka.edu/admission) or "Apply Now" button on IUT website (www.iutoic-dhaka.edu).

The online application form requires the following tasks to be completed:

  1. Candidates have to provide the nationality, religion and the programme for which they are applying.
    1. Host country candidates have to select Bangladesh. Nonresident Bangladeshi (NRB) candidates can also apply; however, they need to mention that information. Note that NRB candidates also need to sit for the Admission Test or they must have a subject based SAT II score (1400 or more).
      NRB candidates also have to complete Step 2 (Confirmation of payment of the admission fees); otherwise, their application will not be processed. If a NRB candidate sits for Admission test, she/he needs to complete Step 3 as well.
    2. Candidates have to select the programme, she/he likes to apply for.
    3. Candidates have to mention their religion. Note that only Muslim can apply.
  2. Candidates have to provide detailed academic records of the secondary and higher secondary levels.
    1. Candidates with Bangladesh National Curriculum will have to provide the Name of Board, Year of Passing of the HSC examination and Roll Number of both the SSC and HSC examinations.
      Their GPA and grades of the selected subjects will be displayed. Candidates have to confirm the grades. If they think the grades are not correct, they can continue with the online application process. However, they need to send email to admission@iut-dhaka.edu to correct the grades following the required process.
      If the grades of the students are not displayed and they think they are eligible to apply, they have to send email to admission@iut-dhaka.edu, and if necessary, contact with the office of the registrar.
    2. Candidates with English Medium education have to select GCE as their board, and provide the Roll Number and Year of passing of both O Level and A Level examinations.
      Furthermore, the candidates with English Medium education have to enter their grades of selected subjects in O and A Levels.
    3. Candidates with HSC in the Higher Secondary level and O Level in the secondary level have to provide the Name of Board, Year of Passing, and Roll Number of HSC examination and then mention that she/he completed the O Level in the secondary level and provide the data of O Level examination. The grades of selected subjects of the O Level have to be provided.
      Candidates with English Medium education, have to send the hard copy of the transcript to the Office of the Registrar on or before the application deadline (26 September, 2017) during 10.00 AM to 04.00 PM in working days (Monday to Friday).
  3. Candidates have to provide/confirm their personal details which include Name, Father’s Name and Mother’s Name. Note that candidates with SSC/HSC do not need to provide these data.
  4. Candidates have to upload their recent color photograph. The size of the photograph should not be larger than 100 KB.
  5. Candidates with a subject based SAT II score (1400 and above) can apply in IUT and may skip the Admission Test. They have to enter the details of their SAT II score and they have to send the official SAT II score to IUT on or before 31 October, 2017. In contrast, candidates without SAT II score can click on the "Skip button". (Detail about SAT II based admission is available here.)
    Note that candidates must have to submit SAT-II scores directly from the testing agency to IUT. [IUT designated institution code is 6855 for college board SAT Subject tests.]
    The examination date of SAT II must be after 26 September 2015.
  6. Finally, candidates have to provide their personal mobile number. Note that all the admission related information will be sent to the candidates in this mobile number. An SMS with a "Confirmation Code" will be sent to the mentioned mobile number, when the candidate will click on the "Send Code" button. Candidates have to validate the mobile number by entering the "Confirmation Code" extracted from the SMS in a specified field and then have to click on the "Confirm" button. If the code matches with the sent code, then Step 1 of the online application will be completed. An SMS will be sent with the PIN and password. For future login, they have to use the PIN and password.

Step 2: Confirmation of the payment of the Admission fees

  1. Each candidate has to pay the admission fees and confirm the payment. To confirm the payment, they need to log in with the PIN and password previously sent by SMS.
  2. No Admit Card will be generated, if the payment is not confirmed, and the candidate will not be allowed to sit for the admission test.
  3. Candidates have to pay the admission fees and confirm the payment during Thursday 12 October, 2017 to Tuesday 31 October, 2017.
  4. Detailed instructions for the payment and confirmation will be available here in time.
  5. If a candidate with subject based SAT II score, does not appear in the admission test, their online application will be completed here. However, the application will not be processed, if the payment is not done within due date. A confirmation SMS will be sent to her/his mobile.

Step 3: Generation of the Admit Card of the admission test and downloading the Admit Card

  1. Candidates those will sit for the admission test will have to generate and download their Admit card. To download candidates have to login with the previously sent PIN and password.
  2. Candidates can download the Admit card during Thursday 12 October, 2017 to Tuesday 31 October, 2017. However, to download the Admit card, candidates must have to complete Step 2.
  3. Detailed instructions for downloading the Admit card will be available soon.
