Undergraduate Programmes

B.Sc. Engineering and BBA

For Host Country

Combined Merit List

  • Host Country students must have to appear in the Admission Test or must have a subject based (Physics, Chemistry, Math II) SAT II Score of 1400 or above.
  • Applicants must have to submit SAT-II scores directly from the testing agency to IUT. [IUT designated institution code is 6855 for College Board SAT Subject tests.]
  • The examination date of SAT-II must be after 26 September 2015.
  • Non-Resident Bangladeshi students, if cannot appear in the Admission Test, must have the SAT II score of 1400 or above.
  • An academic score will be calculated based on SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent results of selected subjects.
  • The Admission Test Marks or SAT II score of students will be converted to an equivalent Test Score.
  • The combined merit list will be prepared based on the Academic score and the Test score. The combined score will be calculated as follows:
    Combined Score = Academic Score * 0.8 + Test Score * 1.2
  • Students with SAT II score 1700 or above will get the admission directly. However, Scholarships and subjects will be distributed according to the combined score.
  • Students with SAT II score can also appear in the Admission Test – after converting both scores into equivalent Test Scores - the better one will be considered.

ACADEMIC SCORE CALCULATION (100 Marks)

  • Grade Point Average (GPA) based on the grade point (GP) of selected subjects in
    • SSC/Equivalent SSC-GPA
    • HSC/Equivalent HSC-GPA

Academic Score Calculation

Test SCORE CALCULATION (100 Marks)

  • Total Admission Test Marks less than 25 and SAT II score less than 1400 will not be considered
  • Conversion of Admission Test Marks or SAT II Score into Equivalent Test Score
    • Highest Marks obtained in the admission test will be converted to equivalent test score of 100 and all the other marks (>= 25) will be converted accordingly.
    • Highest SAT II scores submitted by the candidates will be converted to equivalent test score of 100 and all other scores (>= 1400) will be converted accordingly.

Test Score Calculation

Xm = Highest Marks obtained in the admission test

Ym = Highest SAT II scores submitted by the candidates

  • Scholarship and Subject will be allocated based on the combined score. If the combined score of a candidate with SAT II score 1700 or above is less than the score of the candidate (without SAT II score) in the last position, then she/he will be placed just before the candidate of the last position.

TIE BREAKING IN MERIT POSITION WITH EQUAL COMBINED SCORE

  • Following criteria (in order of appearance) will be followed to break the tie in the combined merit list.
